12 months in Ireland - A personal post

Oh how time flies!

The day my Irish passport arrived!

It's almost a year since I arrived and I'm conscious I've updated my page with loads of photography updates, but little about our time on the Emerald Isle! It's hard to believe it was 12 months ago that I was saying my sad farewells back at home in Melbourne at the beginning of Winter.

Love Where You Live

It's been such an amazing experience and I love where we live, Dundrum has everything we could need - a cinema; an awesome pub where the waitresses know our names (that's not good actually!); walking distance to my day job; oh and the biggest shopping centre in the country (also dangerous!). We're only 20 mins from the city centre and everything is so accessible by tram (the "Luas").

Yes, we had to import some traditional Aussie treats to keep us going!

Sad farewells!

Busy Bee

It's been a whirlwind year with settling in to my new home, building up my business, seeing the world, hosting family and friends - oh and planning two weddings! I'm fortunate enough to have four friends coming to stay with us over the Irish Summer; which, coupled with regular trips back home makes it less painful on the heart strings. I'll be making the same long haul trip home again in October to photograph my Brother's wedding, which I'm so looking forward to.

My James!

Not Home Sick... Yet!

I've done a pretty job of distracting myself, keeping busy and rarely sitting still. And Ireland is so beautiful, so it's not hard to love living here!! We spent the Easter weekend seeing more of the green isle, checking out the sights in County Cork and County Kerry, travelling to the most southern tip of the country. We loved the sights and being tourists in our own country- including meeting lots of furry locals! I'll be looking forward to taking another road trip when the weather (eventually?!) warms up to see more of the country- heading up north to Donegal to see family.

The Eternal Student

I started writing this blog post on the plane on my way back from a trip to London over the May Day bank holiday with my friend Pascale Giordano, the Happiness Coach (yes it's a thing, check her out here!). We went to see the amazing Aussie, Denise Duffield-Thomas speak about entrepreneurial women's Money Mindsets, which has encouraged me to get back into focusing on my business and continue to blog! I've been a bit tardy with my writing lately, but have now had a kick up the bum so you'll be hearing from me more soon.

Travel Bug

I have more of the world to see this year, which is still such a novelty to me. I'll never forget the first time I heard someone say: 'I'm going to Paris for the weekend'! In June, I'm off to San Sebastián for the first time with a girl friend and then visiting Amsterdam again for a weekend. In July I'll be spending a Summer weekend in Barcelona for some sunshine, tapas and sangria!

Photography is my passion

I'll of course be squeezing in lots of beautiful outdoor family portrait sessions in that time which I love. I'll have plenty of time on planes to finish my photoshop editing! I'll be sure to update my Instagram page with updates on my exciting few months ahead! Next year will be amazing, as we get married in Dublin and Melbourne in March, followed by a well-earned honeymoon.

Was so amazing to have my parents visit!

I'm tired thinking about all of this! Chat soon, Sarah x
