And they lived happily ever after...
I had the absolute honour of photographing Cath and Drew's wedding day on 13th May 2017. The ceremony was at Sandy Creek Park Weddings and the reception was held at the All Seasons Hotel in Bendigo. It was a truly beautiful affair, one that bought tears to my eyes. Someone was definitely look down on this lovely couple, because on a Winter's Day in May in Bendigo - the sun was shining brighter than ever!
And so the adventure begins
The day went perfectly, with every little detail thought out well. Cath and Drew were such easy models for me, feeling relaxed all day and just going with the flow - they barely needed any direction, which I think shows in the natural photos. We were so lucky with the weather, May is not known to be a kind month in Melbourne - so they were definitely being looked down on!
A Family Affair
It was so special to see Cath and Drew's boys (Lochie and Nate) be such an important part of the day - and I think they might have stolen the limelight from the bride a couple of times! The speeches were heartfelt, funny and emotional. Everyone was grinning from ear to ear, clearly proud of this lovely couple and eager to celebrate their marriage.
Friends are Forever
I have known Cathy since we were 13 years old, so it has been wonderful to see her grow up into an amazing mother and now wife. It's amazing how much things have changed since then, and although we only catch up once or twice a year, I will always consider her a special friend. It was the perfect occasion to travel from Dublin to Melbourne to photograph - even if it was hard to photograph with tears in my eyes! ("You're a professional Sarah, get it together!").
