Family Photography Workshop Reviews
I recently attended two family photo workshops and learned loads of great new tips and tricks that I can't wait to try out!
Kristen Cook Photography
I had the privilege of having a 1:1 mentoring session with the amazing Kristen Cook in her Melbourne studio last month. The day was completely tailored to me – anything that I needed help or advice on and nothing was off the table. Kristen kindly went through her whole workflow from marketing to client engagement, the shoot itself, editing, printing and postage!
We had three models on the day – a newborn baby, her mum and a gorgeous nine month old boy. The newborn was just pure perfection at just two weeks old, sleeping through the whole setup - so Kristen made it look like a piece of cake of course! Kristen showed me her beanbag setups which were super quick, easy and simple. I love her use of natural tones and immediately ran out to the nearest fabric store to stuck up on some more cream and grey backdrops!
But Natural Photography
Last weekend I flew to London to attend the But Natural group photography workshop, where I was so excited to meet the lovely Sujata and learn all the secrets of her craft.
We were gifted with beautiful models, in particular Sujata’s super placid cat, Yoda who appeared in both the newborn and sitter shoots!
I was most looking forward to learning some great new tips to test out in Photoshop – and I got more than I bargained for! The techniques are super simple, yet much such a difference to my images. I have never really spent much time learning how to ‘hand-edit’ in the past, so I was so pleased to learn this from the best!
All in all, I highly recommend both of these workshops to anyone who is looking to improve their newborn photography skills and also anyone looking to make their images 'pop' with some new Photoshop techniques. Both Kristen and Sujata were approachable, sweet, generous with their advice and a pleasure to learn from!
