I'm moving home!

Home sweet home

After two and a half amazing years in Dublin Ireland, I am moving back to Melbourne. I am so excited to return to Australia during Summer, where I can enjoy a hot Christmas with my family once again (let’s forget about that year that it rained and hailed on Christmas Day)! I am also very proud to say that I successfully managed to skip two Winters, which is always a winner! I am so excited to see my sisters, brother, parents and seven nieces and nephews who I have dearly missed. I have been lucky enough to have amazing friends and family who have visited me here and can see why I fell in love with Ireland almost immediately.

It is actually bittersweet for me, as I have absolutely loved my time getting to know the Emerald Isle and am so grateful for the amazing experiences we’ve had during this time (getting married in a snow storm tops the list). I made some fantastic friends in Dublin that I will stay in contact with for life, and hopefully they will come and visit me in Australia one day too!

There is also something to be sad about celebrating Christmas in Winter - Ireland really puts on an amazing show with the lights and festivities, so we will definitely be back every year to experience this with our family.

Being so close to many other countries in Europe was such a novelty to me when we moved over, so I definitely made the most of my time here and visited as many as I could. My favourite experiences were Barcelona, Dubrovnik, Reykjavik (Northern Lights = 10/10), San Sebastian, London and of course getting engaged in Madrid. We also travelled through most of Ireland and had a fantastic (but cold) Easter in Cork and Kerry, and had the best ‘craic’ in Galway!

Melbourne is an amazing city (obviously unbiased) that you should definitely visit if you’re never been (it was voted the world’s most liveable city for six years in a row, until Vienna knocked us off in 2018!). I will be setting up my new photography studio in December 2018, so keep an eye out for more news soon. Thank you to all my beautiful clients that I met in Dublin over the last couple of years, you are all wonderful people and it has been an honour to photograph you and your families.

I look forward to sharing more images with you in the new year and hope to meet you and your family soon! If you’d like to reserve your spot for a family photoshoot in Melbourne, you can get in touch now! You can email me at: photography@sarah-joy.com any time!
