Time and Life Saving Hack!

Are you using IFTT yet?

Guys, if you haven’t gotten onto “IFTT” (If Then That That), you need to – it’s such a time (and life!) saver! Don’t worry, I’m not on commission (yet!), but anyone who has met me knows that I work at the speed of light, so I’m always looking for tips and tricks to make life easier.

What is it, I hear you ask?

It’s a free online service that simplifies your life (they also have a  smart phone app). It’s great for lovers of social media; anyone promoting a business, or just super-efficient people who love to save time (that’s me!). It automatically connects your accounts (email, social media, dropbox, calendar etc). Whenever I share an image on my Instagram feed, IFTT automatically creates a new tweet for me with the same caption and hashtags - magic! Each setup that you create in IFTT is called a "recipe", and there are many presets already setup ready to go for you - all you need to do is connect it to your accounts and away it goes!

It's Fun

I was using IFTT before I launched my photography business just for a bit of fun - I once bought a nifty little contraption called a WeMo which connected to IFFT. This allowed me to turn on my electric blanket from my mobile phone when on my way home from a night out in Winter (it could've turned the heater on for me too!). Lazy? Yes. Amazing? Also yes. IFFT can send you a notification if it's going to rain; if your battery is dying; remind you to pay a bill and basically just control your life.

Looking to find space on your iPhone?

IFFT can automatically save your instagram or Facebook photos to Dropbox or Evernote, meaning you can remove the original photo from your phone and save space!

Want to get out of a bad date?

Send s sneaky text to IFFT with the hashtag #helpme and your phone will call you back. You can decide what "emergency" you need to deal with so you can make your excuse and leave!

Have you given it a go? Let me know if you need any help (it can look a little confusing initially, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy and fun!). I'd love to hear how you're using it in your every day life to makes things easier,
